Our Team: Registered Dental Hygienists

I have been a patient at Dr. Macks’ office since I was three years old, so this office is literally a second home to me. I started here as a dental assistant in 2005 and later graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Clark College in 2010. I am married and have two children. We are true Seahawks fans and attend as many home games as possible. We also enjoy snow skiing in the winter. I value education and strive to keep current on all dental hygiene practices. I look forward to helping you achieve and maintain outstanding oral health.

I have been working with Dr. Macks since 1990. I have had the pleasure of working with him and all our wonderful patients in his growing practice. I graduated from the Pierce College Hygiene program in 1989. I look forward to seeing and working with patients that I have come to know through the years and new patients alike. I strive to make all of our patient’s time in the office as pleasurable as I can and look forward to serving each and every person. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband Dennis since 1984. We have two adult children that we love to spend time with. I like trying new things and currently enjoy a little golf, boating, cake decorating and shooting handguns.

I have been practicing dental hygiene since 2005. I graduated top of my class from Pierce College and have loved every minute I’ve spent in the dental field. After breaking my jaw (and multiple teeth) snowboarding at Mt. Baker in ’98, I developed a new appreciation for the oral cavity and all of its surrounding periodontal tissues (and how it affects the entire body). I’ve had root canals, crowns, extractions, and an implant and can completely relate to every patient that comes into the office. My most favorite part of the job is getting to the know my patients, laughing with them, teaching them hygiene skills, and helping to ease their dental anxiety. I adore traveling- anywhere hot with exotic animals to admire- and spending time with my amazing pitbull/lab Bella (affectionately known as Boo). I spend my spare time volunteering at Tacoma Humane Society helping to educate people on dog breeds, discriminations and misconceptions, as well as fostering older dogs. I am happiest outdoors (when it’s not raining) and spend my spare time hiking, gardening and reading. I’m super excited to be the latest addition to our team as I love everyone in the office and their dedication to patient care is unsurpassable. It’s fabulous knowing that patients always come first here and every staff member will give 110% to make sure our patients leave with a smile on their face.

I am thrilled to have become part of Dr. Macks’ hygiene team in 2017. I spent many years as a Dental Assistant before attending Clark College’s Dental Hygiene program and graduating in 2010. I consider myself to be a thoughtful practitioner, demonstrating compassion to my patients while striving to help them obtain optimal oral health. My husband and I welcomed our twins in July 2016 and are loving this new adventure. I enjoy spending time at our family cabin, crafting and traveling. In 2013 I traveled to Guatemala on a dental mission trip which was such an amazing and eye opening experience. I hope to do more international volunteer work in the future.

Our Team: Certified Dental Assistants

I have been in the dental field for the past 16 years. It is a people-based profession, and I am all about connecting with the patients and giving them the very best care. Whether it is ensuring comfort during your visits or getting you the information you seek to help you meet your goals. I have taken great pride in working alongside Dr. Macks and team since 2009 providing the best dentistry and advanced technology like the CEREC machine or the materials that we utilize. The results are rewarding. I truly enjoy working with this great team and recommend Dr. Macks and our staff to anyone I know and my personal family.

When you come into our office, you may find me working up front or working in the back with Dr. Macks and his associates. I have been a Certified Dental Assistant since 1989, and I love what I do. The best part of being a dental assistant is building relationships with our patients and being able to help them overcome any dental fears they may have. I want our patients to enjoy going to the dentist. I have always had a passion for the complex artistry and design that goes into great dentistry. Dr. Macks and his associates are wonderful to work with and take great pride in the quality of dentistry they provide. On a personal note; I’ve been married to my wonderful husband and friend Don for over 12 years. We have four amazing children (3 girls and 1 boy), they are the light of our lives! As our children all head off to college, we look forward to the next chapter of our lives. In my spare time, I enjoy card/craft making, cake decorating and spending time with my family and friends.

I have been a part of the team since July 2017; have been in dentistry since 2007. I graduated from Bates Technical College for Dental assisting in 2007. In 2016, was accepted into the Expanded Function Dental Assisting Program at South Puget Sound Community College and graduated in June 2017. What I love about my job is the ability to get to know my patients on a personal level. I love creating beautiful, happy and healthy smiles. I also enjoy the company of the people I get to work with every day. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching football, traveling and shopping. I am a proud mom to a little Miniature Doberman Pinscher named Thor.

Our Team: Office Administrator

My dental career started in 1999 when I graduated from Bates Technical College as a certified dental assistant. I have had the opportunity to assist alongside extremely skilled and talented Dentists for 5 years. Being offered the opportunity to change my role to an Office Administrator and Insurance Coordinator in 2001 was a wonderful opportunity that led me to my current role as an Office Administrator. I am currently an active member of the American Academy of Dental Office Managers. I love that Dentistry is always evolving and advancing. I am married with three beautiful children. If I’m not the taxi driver/cheerleader for one of their many athletic events, we are enjoying the outdoor life of the Pacific Northwest. I look forward to being a part of your wonderful experience with Dr. Macks and our great staff.

Our Team: Scheduling Coordinators

I am one of the scheduling coordinators for Dr. Macks’ office. I have been here since 2011. My educational background is from Clover Park Technical College and I have worked in the Dental field for the past 18 years. First as an assistant, then the last six years in a front office role. I have been married to my husband, Doug, for the past 16 years and we have one daughter, Lexie. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. I love the family atmosphere here at Dr. Macks’ office and the confident feeling that our patients are in extremely great hands. My goal is to make sure we treat each client like family and that mirrors Dr. Macks’ personality. We do our best to make sure all of your questions are answered prior to having any work done in our office.

I have worked in the front office for Dr. Macks for three years and have been in the dental field for almost 10. Dr. Macks has such a great wealth of knowledge and experience. Combine that with his compassion and caring nature; it’s nearly impossible for any patient not to feel at ease from the moment they walk in. Our patients are our #1 priority, and I strive to show that in every aspect of their visit. From greeting them when they first walk in the door to seeing them out at the end of their appointment, making sure all their questions are answered. On a personal note, I have been married to my husband for almost eight years now, and we have a son named Jaxson. We love the outdoors and working on our property together. I especially love riding my horses.
